OK, so 4-chan is on the march and that should terrify governments and corporations everywhere.
Yesterday, over 9000 /b/tards simultaneously fired their lazors (also known as the Low Orbit Ion Cannon)
at Mastercard, Paypal, Visa, and other perceived enemies of freedom of speech in an effort to avenge
Mr. Julian Assange. They called it "Operation Payback."
Operation Payback was launched by "Anonymous", a group that is not really an organization of any kind,
but rather a loose coalition of people sympathetic to Mr. Assange. Nobody really speaks for Anonymous,
and those who claim to, as someone calling himself "ColdBlood" did yesterday quickly find themselves
the subject or scorn, derision, and the posting of personal information. Anon had been communicating
using Facebook fan pages and Twitter profiles, but those were quickly killed. New ones are popping up constantly
with variations on the words "Operation Payback" so now it'll be a whack a mole game to try to stop them.
That said, a sort of manifesto for the "group" has begun making the rounds, you can read it here
So why is this significant? I think its the first real act of internet-based revolution. A disorganized,
autonomous collective was able to rattle the world of online commerce. With no real stucture,
an amorphous collection of freelancers killed the websites of two of the biggest corps on the planet.
DDOS FTW.
But back to my point. People are pissed. They're not going to put up with government repression
of freedom of speech rights anymore. Though some of us have been fighting for this issue for decades,
we haven't been terribly effective...until yesterday when a new breed of "chaotic-good activist" joined the fight.
What Anonymous did yesterday was flex their muscles and draw a little blood. Symbolically, this showed
governments and corporations that the people are capable of fighting back when we don't like what they do.
This has inspired and will continue to inspire others as the story is told. And as the "recession" ensures
that young people have adequate time and motivation to take action, its likely that the "infowar" has just begun.
Though I do not and will not speak for anyone but myself, I can tell you that Anonymous will find that very entertaining.

Reports this morning that Amazon, Paypal, Mastercard and others working against Mr. Assange
are being hit with DDOS attacks to cripple their websites. It seems that 4-chan is focused, and that
should be a terrifying prospect for TPTB. With no dis-respect to Alex Jones, the real infowar has finally
begun; the first shots of the revolution have been fired. Very exciting!

The video is a little bit of fear mongering, but it does present a plausible scenario for how
