Happy Depression Era Valentine's Day

A few things to ponder this Valentine's Day.

The man in the video is Gerald Celente of the Trends Research Institute. I've been following Celente's work
for over a year now, and I've found him to be an incredibly accurate forecaster of reality. He always says "current events
form future trends," and bases his work upon that assumption. Its pretty hard to argue against him. This is an interview of
Celente on the satellite news channel "Russia Today". Listen to him tell uncomfortable truths about the echo
of today's reality on tomorrow.

After that, a photo which I think will come to capture the zeitgeist of the next few years, symbolizing the mood of the
people in the next little while. If you haven't noticed it yet, I should tell you that the revolution has begun. I think that
what is starting to happen has been most accurately characterized by writer, film-maker and podcaster Max Keiser.
He refers to the uprising as "the global insurrection against corporate occupation." At long last, (thanks to the internet)
the people have gotten wise to the criminal scheme known as modern banking. Critical mass is so close. We're watching
our standard of living being swept aside so that more and more illusory trillions can be funneled up to some of the richest
men in the world. I don't think we're going to put up with it anymore. If you don't quite understand what the photo means,
I suggest that you do some research. It is most important to learn from history. I should point out that the posting of
this photo doesn't imply my support for capital punishment. (I think that a standard US prison experience would be sufficient
punishment for the billionaires who have worked to impoverish the rest of us) The photo just serves as a reminder of
how afraid they should be of us.

Finally, something I wrote a few years ago about the pointlessness of today's "holiday." Hope you have a good one.

The Trap

The following phrases are for the sake of visitors who will find this page through a search engine.
Excuse me if this comes across as overly cynical.

Fuck Valentine's Day. Valentine's Day Sucks. I Hate Valentine's Day. Valentines Tabernacle.

Thanks for letting me get that out of the way. If you have come to this site by "googling" one of those
phrases, I welcome you. As you well know, today is Saint Valentine's Day, one of our culture's many fake
holidays. In addition to being a day for expressing your love, Valentine's Day (and its high expectations)
serves as a poison to many relationships. Today, clueless men everywhere will disappoint their wives and
girlfriends. Women may just want to be reminded that they are loved. Men aren't always good at that.
Today will also be a painful day for lonely singles, overwhelmed by the hype. Many will go out tonight
in a desperate search to find someone, anyone to fill the emptiness. Watch your drinks.

Like Christmas and Easter, Saint Valentine's Day is a watered down version of a Pagan celebration.
February 14th was the day that Romans honoured Juno, the Goddess of women and marriage. Then, in the year
269, a Christian named Valentine was executed for refusing to renounce his faith. On the day of his execution,
(again, February 14th) he left a love letter for the daughter of his jailer. The letter was said to have
been signed, "From your Valentine." How sweet.

Our culture has taken this blend of a Roman holiday and the death of an obscure Christian and turned it into
a capitalist windfall. Men are expected to "be romantic," today. More often than not, this means that men are
expected to open their wallets. Advertising campaigns shout "Don't let her down like you did last year!" To stay
out of that dog-house just Buy! Buy! Buy! Today will be a very good day for flower shops, restaurants, greeting
card companies, jewellers, and chocolate makers. That aside, does Valentine's Day have any real value? What
does it mean for our culture when for many men, today's main goal is not to screw things up?

My girlfriend and I have decided to opt out of Valentine's Day celebrations. What a wonderful woman she is!
We can celebrate our relationship every day, we do not need to resort to the contrived gift-giving exercises
of a fake holiday. (Thank you very much) For the men out there who will be caught in the Valentine's Day trap,
I am sorry. I've been there many times myself. I remember all too well how today can focus your partner on
what a cheapskate you are. I hope that your relationship can survive it. If not, there's always next year.
Good luck.

2nd September 11th Attack Took Place Last Year?

This is Congressman Paul Kanjorski of Pennsylvania speaking on CSPAN on February 6th. An angry caller
confronts him about his support of the bailout programs that have given hundreds of billions of dollars to the banks.
To justify his support for the program, Kanjorski explains what really happened at about that time. At 2:08
into the video, Kanjorski says "Look I was there when the Secretary (Henry Paulson) and the Chairman of the Federal
Reserve (Ben Bernanke) came those days and talked with members of congress about what was going on, it was about
September 15th."

Next Kanjorski says "Here's the facts, and we don't even talk about these things. On Thursday at about 11 o'clock
in the morning the Federal Reserve noticed a tremendous draw-down of money market accounts in the United States,
to the tune of 550 billion dollars was being drawn out in a matter of an hour or two." Moments later, Kanjorski says
"We were having an electronic run on the banks."

Kanjorski admits that someone, or a group of someones had simultaneously pulled more than half a trillion dollars
out of US money markets, and that had the Federal Reserve not intervened, 5.5 trillion would have been taken out by
2 o'clock that afternoon, collapsing the entire US economy.

Look at the timing. Kanjorski says that he had the meeting with Bernanke and Paulson "about September 15th." The bank
run took place on Thursday. Look at the calendar. Notice anything significant about the previous Thursday?

september 2008

On September 11th, 2008, the US economy nearly collapsed due to massive amounts of funds being withdrawn. So many
questions are raised by the implications of this. Do you remember climate of fear that Congress seemed to be operating
in as they passed the bailout? Was this blackmail? Can we call it Financial Terrorism? Some very important questions now.
Who took out all the money? Where did it all go? How was it that those who withdrew such massive amount were able to
co-ordinate their actions? Cui Bono? Note that the panic caused by this electronic run on the banks led directly to the
bailout scheme being passed by congress. This is huge. Pass it on.

The Transition is Here

I haven't updated the page much recently due to the massive amount of reading and research I've been doing.
I am convinced that we have now entered the time of transition for our societies; the economic collapse underway is
just a symptom of this. The way of life that many people used to live is now gone, never to return. We have
entered the era of the blade of the hockey-stick-charts, that is, the exponential changes in all of our systems
have piled upon themselves and are now out of control. Everything is changing rapidly and the theoretical
systems by which our civilization operates are running up against their biggest obstacle, reality. If you don't
know what I'm talking about or you want to live in denial, that's fine, though I implore you to watch the following
series of videos. They will bring you up to speed on what's going on.

Click to Watch "Crash Course"

If you've been paying attention, you'll notice that the revolution has begun. The next few years will be monumental,
so like the curse says, its interesting times. Those of you who have already simplified your lives and sought meaning
in non-material things will have a much easier go of this than those who have been sleepwalking in a chemical haze of
junk food and hypnotic media. I suppose this website can only preach to the choir, still, its worth sounding the alarm
and saying, yes, the time of transition is here.

I'll close this post with a statement of triumph, though I know that one is wise to conduct triumph as a funeral.
Consumerism is dead. Globalism is dead. Though climate change will soon profoundly alter the landscape, the
environmental movement has won. The people are rising up and the corporate aristocrats will soon fear the guillotine.
Our deeply troubled societies will soon purge themselves of the mental illness that prompted them to defile the
planet for illusory gain. There is now a tremendous opportunity to build a better way of life in our futures as
the old systems come crashing down. In the meantime we must keep our wits about us and maintain understanding of
the root causes of the problems that brought such chaos, so as not to repeat such mistakes. A much better world is
just on the horizon, unfortunately, there's going to be a very difficult time first. May you get through it with
calm and compassion. It is always darkest before dawn. Peace to you and those you love.

Gordon Brown Suggests World Heading for a Depression

Gordon Brown appeared to acknowledge for the first time today that the world economy was heading
for a 1930s-style "depression".

Kyrgyzstan to Close US Air Base

Russian experts say the message is that the US will have to talk to Moscow, not Bishkek, if it wants
to operate in the former Soviet region in future. The Kremlin, which assented to the base as a "temporary"
measure following the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, is miffed that the US appears to have settled down in Manas
permanently, they say. "The closure of Manas should be read as an invitation from Moscow to negotiate the
whole spectrum of concerns about cooperation in Central Asia, but those talks will have to take place with Russia,"
says Fyodor Lukyanov, editor of Russia in Global Affairs, a leading foreign policy journal.
"Russia is positioning itself as the boss in this region once more."

Putin to the West: Take Your Medicine

We've truly entered a Bizarro World universe, where up is down, right is left - and the Russians,
of all people, are now lecturing us about the virtues of free enterprise.

Harper Government Survives

The Conservatives required the support of the Liberals to ensure the budget bill passed.
A defeat would have toppled the minority Tory government and possibly led to some kind of coalition
government or another election.
