I haven't had much time for this page lately as I've been quite busy with other parts
of my life. One thing I've been working on is my on-again off-again music project, slackshaman.
I know its off the ususal topic of this page, but I thought it would be good to share what
I've been doing with all of you.
Slackshaman is a bit of a spiritual undertaking for me. I write trippy, dark-folk music
as a means of dealing with my frustrations. The style of music is hard to describe,
but it is influenced by many different traditions from around the world. It is most prominently
influenced by the northern landscape that I inhabit. I play guitar and bass, I sing and growl and
bang on objects in my environment to come up with the sounds you hear.
Below are the youtube versions of four slackshaman songs that I've recently completed.
Below each is a link where you can download an MP3 of the song.

Thanks for checking it out. I won't have much time for the page over the next little
bit as I've got a lot of real-world work to do, but the podcast should be back in early April.
Alex talks about China and how it is likely to view recent
aggressive moves by the US. The talk includes a quick Mandarin lesson.
Alex also looks at current fears about European economies, recommends
a few websites, and pays tribute to the late Howard Zinn.
